Dr. Zargar received her undergraduate degree from the University of Waterloo in 2002 and then went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree from Indiana University in 2006. Upon graduation, Dr. Zargar trained at a variety of medical centres in West Virginia and Indiana, as well as at the Vision Institute of Canada. She also completed a number of continuing education courses where she focused on expanding her knowledge in myopia control, dry eye disease, and pediatric optometry.
Dr. Zargar is a proud member of the College of Optometrist of Ontario, the Ontario Association of Optometrists, and has served as president on the board of the Vision Institute of Canada. She has also volunteered as an Assessor for Canadian Examiners in Optometry.
Dr. Zargar is continuously working on advancing her education and investing in progressive technologies to offer her patients the very best care. With state-of-the-art technology, Dr. Zargar is pleased to offer full-scope optometric care for patients of all ages, including innovative treatment options such as myopia management, dry eye therapy, specialty contact lens fittings, and laser eye surgery co-management.
Through her well-rounded education and passion for the ever-changing field of optometry, Dr. Zargar has the expertise and knowledge to deliver high-quality, personalised eye care to every one of her patients. Dr. Zargar is fluent in Farsi, French and English. She is currently accepting new patients and is pleased to offer full scope optometric eye care to patients of all ages.
Dr. Nicole Chau graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry. She also has an undergraduate degree from McMaster University in Health Sciences along with a minor in Economics.
During her optometric training, Dr. Chau completed rotations through each of the specialty clinics at the University of Waterloo. She also completed a primary care and neuro-optometry externship in Etobicoke, Ontario, as well as an externship in ocular disease and therapeutics in downtown Toronto where she had the opportunity to practice the co-management of complex eye conditions including glaucoma, cataracts and diabetic retinopathy.
Dr. Chau has a keen interest in dry eye disease, specialty contact lenses and myopia management. She is currently helping with a file review project at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry, which looks at how children who are myopic or at risk of becoming myopic (pre-myopic) are managed in clinical practice across Ontario.
Growing up in Newmarket, Ontario, Dr. Chau is excited to be providing full scope optometric care in York Region and believes in the importance of patient education. She is a member of the College of Optometrists of Ontario, the Ontario Association of Optometrists, and the Canadian Association of Optometrists. She can speak English, Cantonese and Mandarin. In her spare time, she enjoys baking cakes and cookies, playing guitar, and capturing and editing photos.
